Dr. Lilien Vogl
Dr. Lilien Vogl founded Vision Wellness in 2003. She is Board member of the Arizona Optometric Association and a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. Locally she is member of Estrella Rotary Club. Dr. Vogl enjoys providing preventative eye care to professionals and others who value their eyesight and eye health.
Dr. Vogl remembers having vision problems since she was 5 years old. As some may recall, growing up near-sighted in the 60’s and 70’s was no fun, and even less fun in dark, cold Chicago winters! “I remember my mother kept telling me to stop squinting so much. Little did she know, if I didn’t squint, I didn’t see,” is a story Dr. Vogl likes to tell her patients.
Dr. Vogl received a dual-undergraduate degree in Genetics and Psychology from the University of Illinois, and afterwards went on to get her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Vogl served her residency in ocular disease and low vision at Veteran Hospitals in Chicago and Hines, IL. She was a Clinical Instructor at Indiana University School of Optometry in Indianapolis, IN.
“Why do I love optometry? It's a significant part of my life. I enjoy helping children with their first pair of glasses. Asking parents of these children to be position in front of their children about getting glasses instead of making them feel as if they are defective. Giving a child their first pair of contact lenses and instantly boosting their self esteem. As I am first generation American, I've had the training in taking very complicated medical information and be able to explain things in simplistic terms as I did for my parents and grandparents while I was growing up. I pride myself in listening extra careful and being to then explain in terms my patients can understand. What other career can impact the very independence and livelihood of someone else as protecting and enhancing someone's life and vision every day?”
